HeyManager. Know what to say.
It might be a colleague who keeps missing deadlines, or a manager you need to say no to. Practise a conversation like it out loud first, with an AI playing the other person, and get honest feedback on what you said.
Practise a conversationWhat you say in practice stays private. Plans from €10 a month.
One session, four steps
A session is one practice conversation. Start at the card at the top of the drawing and follow the arrows. See the real screens.
- 1
Choose a situation the card
Pick a case close to what you're facing, or describe it and the app suggests one.
- 2
Say it out loud the two chairs
Talk it through by voice. The AI plays the other person and answers the way they might, pushback included.
- 3
See how it went the notebook
Your feedback shows what helped and what to try next time. It reads your words, not your tone of voice, face or body language.
- 4
Track your progress the rising line
Your stats build up over sessions, so you can see which skills are moving and which need more work.
In the app, the cases sit in the Playbook, saying it out loud is Practice, your feedback is a Play Review, and your scores build up in Game Stats. We borrowed the names from sport, where you practise before the game and review how you played afterwards.
What you get
Practice without real-world stakes, and a clearer view of how you lead.
Where you sit among five leadership profiles.
Your Skill Signature
After several sessions, your Skill Signature, a map of how you lead, shows the leadership skills you rely on most, built from what you did in practice. It shifts as you grow, and short articles in the app help you work on each skill.
A coach who has read what you chose to share.
A coach, when you want a person Opening to a first group
One-to-one sessions with a human coach, separate from the monthly plans. If you choose to share a Play Review, your coach reads it before you meet, so you start from what you actually did.
Then back to practice, knowing what to work on next.
For your organisation
Buy a monthly plan for each of your people and invite them by email. Team Stats shows how the group is doing on each leadership skill: anonymised, and only shown once at least five people have practised over at least seven days. You can see which cases and articles each person has completed. What they said, and any score with their name on it, stays with them.
Add your organisation's name, sector and core values, and everyone's practice is set in your organisation instead of a made-up one, with your values on every case.
On request
Cases around your own situations, practice built on your own leadership framework, or a say in which cases people practise next. Built with you, separate from the monthly plans.
More on the For organisations page.
How the pieces fit together
Each session is for the person who practises. When an organisation gives its people a plan, their practice, anonymised and added together, can help the organisation too.

Who we are
Three of us started HeyManager, each because of a problem seen up close.
One of us, a chemical engineer who has run operations and opened facilities in Europe and the United States, watched a company grow faster than its culture could spread. The lesson: everyday moments, like how you answer a colleague who raises a problem, hold a culture together. Those moments can be practised.
Another, an expert in organisational psychology, has seen leadership development stop when the course ends, with nothing afterwards to keep people practising.
The third, a leadership researcher, wants people prepared before it counts. At work, the first go at a hard conversation is often the real one.
Different problems led us to the same answer: practise the conversation before it happens. You can reach the three of us at hello@heymanager.io.
The night before
The conversation is tomorrow. Tonight there's time to say it out loud once, and go in a little more sure of what to say.
